Ping Pol (2018)
Working as an interaction designer, I was commissioned by Lydia Perrot for her diploma project that was about creating a new language for analyzing music.
“How do you discuss music? In order to create a common reference, it makes sense to deal with the score of a work. But the written notes can not “explain” what we hear. But are there alternatives? This edition is one possible answer to this question. It acts as a dialogue between theory and implementation and includes text excerpts from Mauro Hertig’s book “Höranalyse: NeueHerkzeuge der musikalischen Perception” as well as an interactive audiobook of his play “Ping Pol“.

Using her graphic design work, I was commissioned to create an augmented reality (AR) application to help play video guides to various pages inside her book edition of her work. Creating this AR app within Unity 3D, and also help with Vuforia and Xcode, I was able to create a seem-less interaction between a static medium that was present and the moving images that were ‘hidden’ inside the page. This application was used to help create a platform where the moving images could be seen, with the application that would be the current camera image alongside a live-time playback and response to the user to allow a new narrative to unfold before their eyes.
